Inside the Most Creative Holiday Events We Have Produced

Every December, I get two kinds of calls. The first is from companies who locked us in early and are ready to wow their guests. The second is from the frantic planner who waited too long and is now scrambling for whatever is left. Spoiler alert: the first group always wins.

Holiday events in Calgary are competitive. Venues book out. Caterers run out of capacity. And if you want anything beyond the same old ballroom with turkey dinner, you have to plan ahead. That said, when you do plan with R3, the sky is the limit. Here is a look at some of the most creative holiday event touches we have produced.

Prosecco on Wheels

One client loved Prosecco, so we brought in a custom Prosecco truck wrapped in their brand colors. Guests could not stop talking about it. Drinks became part of the entertainment, not just a bar line.

Mashed Potato Martinis

Forget boring appetizers. We worked with a brewhouse to serve mashed potatoes in martini glasses with roast beef, gravy, and crispy onions on top. Guests got something hearty and fun that kept them full for a 5 to 8 pm event. It became the talk of the night.

Planes, Cars, and Personality

For a private hangar event, the backdrop was the client’s private plane and her favorite cars. Every corner of the space reflected her personality. Guests felt like they were stepping into her world, not just another party.

Puppies and Smiles

One of my favorite endings was bringing in an animal rescue group for the final hour of an event. Guests left with full hearts and smiles after spending time with the cats and dogs. The client’s signature phrase was “make it a great day,” and that is exactly how it ended.

The Lesson

Holiday event production in Calgary is not about centerpieces and buffets. It is about creating experiences that reflect your company, surprise your guests, and make people talk about it well into the new year.

If you are reading this in November and have not locked in your event yet, it is not too late. The best time to plan was yesterday. The second best time is now.
